Oil pulling is a traditional Indian detox technique that involves swishing oil in the mouth. I love this because it is so beneficial, extremely effective, cheap, and easy. Oil pulling helps the body's natural detoxification process. Usually it is best done in the morning upon waking but can be done at any time. It can act like a cup of coffee, waking you up, but it also helps remove all the bacteria sitting in your mouth that regular brushing doesn’t eliminate.
A coffee enema is a good way to cleanse toxins out of the gall bladder and empty your colon of feces. Caffeine in the coffee is absorbed into the body through the anus. These chemicals relax muscles, stimulate the bowels, and cause bile ducts and blood vessels to open.
This might sound gross to you but this is an excellent way to detox the colon. The colon is part of the large intestine, the final part of the digestive system. Its function is to reabsorb fluids and process waste products from the body and prepare for its elimination.
The body stores within its fatty tissues the toxins that we ingest from the food we eat, air we breathe, water we drink, plastics, antibiotics, vaccines, etc. More than ever we are living in a toxic soup of dangerous pollutants. There are certain small amounts of heavy metals that are nutritionally essential for life. However, there becomes health issues when the body absorbs high levels of heavy metals. Heavy metals accumulate in the body when there are large amounts. The body cannot properly metabolize them and they accumulate in the soft tissues of the body.
Thus, making the body toxic.
If heavy metals are not detoxed from the body, serious damage can occur from all of the toxic build up. Long-term exposure can result in muscle degeneration, Alzeimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, neurological problems, learning disabilities, cancer, to name a few.

The root of horseradish has been used for thousands of years in herbal medicines as a remedy for many different physical ailments, but unfortunately most people nowadays think of it as just another condiment for their roast beef dinner or sandwiches. Besides the added flavor, there is a very good reason it is eaten with meats - it's a very powerful digestive aid that helps the body break down the toughest of proteins. Horseradish can be purchased at health food stores and grocery stores or better yet, grown at home. Horseradish is easy to grow, all that is needed is a piece of an existing root. Plant it in soil, add a little bit of water daily and watch it grow! It will be ready to dig out before the first frost in the fall.

Cucumbers are often referred to as a superfood, however they are often sprayed with pesticides so it is important to buy organic or even better, grow them yourself.
It is spring now, the perfect time to plant those crops, for homegrown, organic, non GMO and pesticide-free food. Gardening can be done anywhere, even sprouts on the kitchen counter. Growing your own food does not have to be expensive. In fact, you can re-grow plants from scraps of fruits and veggies in your kitchen. I have put together a list of kitchen scraps that I have regrown.
